Using your TalknSave rental phone or SIM
Making Calls - Dialing Directions
Local calls: Just dial the number and press the 'send' or 'call' button. Israeli phones must have a 0 first, i.e. dial 02 for Jerusalem landlines. Cell phones also need the 0 in their prefixes.
International calls: Dial direct using 00 followed directly by the country code - for example, dial the USA as follows: dial 00-1(555)555-5555. Dialing with 012, 013 or 014 etc. will ALWAYS be more expensive!
Checking voice mail: Dial *80 from your phone, or hold down your '1' key. Your default password is 1234#. The instructions will guide you through the voice mail menu.
Text Messaging & Media Messaging
Receiving messages - FREE! Receive messages from another Israeli cell phone or from a cell abroad.
Sending messages: Almost all phones can write and send SMS (text messages) and most can send MMS (multimedia messages, messages with images or audio attached). In your phone menu, go to 'messages' and 'write new'. You can send messages to any cell phone in Israel (price varies by destination) or to most numbers abroad. You will be charged for outgoing messages.
Monitoring Your Usage
There are three ways to check how many minutes you’ve used with your TalknSave phone:
- Online: Go to www.talknsave.net/MyTnsLogin.aspx and login to check your outgoing minutes, your virtual number minutes, and more.
- By phone: call 02-658-0028 from your phone to hear a summary of your minute usage this cycle.
- By text: text the word ‘minutes’ to 02-651-1377 from your phone to receive a summary message of your minute usage this cycle.

TalknSave and Cellcom work hand in hand to bring you the best service possible. Call us with any problems you have - we may be able to assist you over the phone. If your equipment needs service, you can come into our office any time – we can handle most issues on the spot. Alternatively, we can arrange a courier to get you a working phone. Contact us for the best option for you. (Note: 'kosher' model users may need to use Cellcom's repair service – contact us!)
If your phone is ever lost or stolen:
IMMEDIATELY call Cellcom to have the line disconnected! Call *123 from any Cellcom phone (free call!), or 052-999-0123 from anywhere. Ask the operator to have your line disconnected. THEN call TalknSave as soon as you can!
You are responsible for all calls made from your phone until the disconnection is confirmed!
Phone codes: If your phone ever asks you for a PIN or PUK number, call us immediately. If you guess those codes incorrectly, it could permanently lock your phone!
