Hanukkah Craft Card With Cut Paper

Here’s a fun Hanukkah card craft using cut paper that’s oh so simple and yet the results are just beautiful, don’t you think? Children always love to cut paper, and the amazing creator of Creative Jewish Mom, Sara Rivka is at it yet again, I am so happy to have found this DIY site for  this Hanukkah! And of course, this is a great project for any age…..

Once again this simple DIY project is just one step. Yes, we want to make your cleanup easier! Start with a little art lesson explaining the beauty of simple shapes and combining colors, and get to work. No instructions necessary here, right? And of course, if you don’t need any Hanukkah cards, so how about some beautiful works of art to hang around the house?

DIY Hanukkah Menorah From Cardboard Tubes

Hanukkah, Hanukkah, come light the menorah … or in this case, make one! Hanukkah – the Festival of Lights – begins this week! I started celebrating a few days early by making our own paper menorah out of – wait for it – toilet paper rolls. I was inspired by a similar idea from the Creative Jewish Mom blog. I varied things slightly, but here’s what we ultimately made.

Just Save The Toilet Paper

How To:

Step 1: Draw a candle on the tube as shown on the right of the photo below. Cut out the candle such that you have a piece that looks like that on the left in the photo.

Step 2: Use your cut out piece to trace identical candle shapes on each of the 9 remaining tubes, and then cut out the space around the candle with sharp scissors.

Step 3: Trace the flame onto glittered craft foam, and cut out individual flames and glue to candle.

Step 4: Add a piece of tube to the shamash middle candle so that it will be higher than the rest. Assemble menorah by glueing at the bases with regular glue (hold with paper clips until it dries) or hot glue.

Step 5: Enjoy:)

Hanukkah Magnet Craft With Glitter Craft Foam!

So, I tried this out the other day with my two kids both of whom are crazy for crafting. They were ecstatic to work on some more Hanukkah decorations especially becouse who doesnt go crazy for glitter and foam. They loved the little candles and the vials of olive oil with the googly eyes (above) and they can continue to enjoy them after Hanukkah to enjoy for years to come.

Love Glitter? Love Foam? Love Hanukkah?

You can make your magnets in a variety of sizes…..I just love the large Hanukkah menorah! You can also have a little bowl of sufganiyot (doughnuts) currently drying, and of course the numbers one through eight would be great too.

How To:

Easy Peasy With Just One Step: Draw shapes of wrong side of craft foam, cut out and glue layers together. Set aside to dry, and once dry, attach flat magnets to the back with white glue or hot glue. Thats it! It really is that simple. TaDa. Now go and show off your amazing DIY Hanukkah magnets.

Glitter, Foam, Fun!
