Festival of Lights – Do it Right

Menorah in box

Light Up the Night!

The Annual Chanukah Torch Relay

To start off the holiday right, join the annual Torch Relay. The torch is first lit in Modi'in, a city in the Judean Hills and traditionally the home of the Maccabim. It is then passed from hand to hand all the way to Jerusalem, where it is used to light the menorah at the Western Wall. Thousands participate and light their own candles as well to create a never-ending human menorah.

Together we Shine Brighter

This chain symbolizes the persistence of the Maccabim when fighting for religious freedom for the Jewish People. Unity and love are felt on all eight nights of the holiday, and especially during the relay and the lighting ceremony. Be a part of the Chanukah menorah lighting with the entirety of the nation.

Do the Chanukah Roam

A Chanukah walking tour is an exciting way for the whole family to explore the beauty of Jerusalem. Take a walk through the Old City or the neighborhood of Nachlaot. Many residents place their menorahs out on the street for the purpose of advertising the miracle of Chanukah. The ancient architecture along with the candles create an illusion of a glowing fairyland. There are also organized tours for families or small groups. Book a tour if you want additional information to contribute to your experience.
