Winter in Jerusalem brings about various wonderful things – among them some of the most fantastic live music shows! Here’s a list of recommended upcoming performances in the Holy City. And while it’s cold outside, the following shows will warm your heart.

Yishai Reboh

Zappa Jerusalem, February 22nd

Yishai is only 28, but has become increasingly popular in the last few years. His voice is melodic and sweet and his lyrics are beautiful and profound. Yishai combines traditional Jewish concepts and even verses from the Bible to create a sound that is unique and speaks to everyone. Get your tickets here.

The Yellow Submarine, February 23rd

Tuna is an Israeli singer-songwriter whose blend of elements of rap and funk is nostalgic, haunting, sad, and hopeful all at once. His hit song, “Gam Zeh Ya’avor,” or “This Too Shall Pass,” is a wonderful and refreshing twist on an old and overused cliché. Click here for early tickets.

Paul Simon Tribute by Ofer Golany

Blue Hall Music, February 25th

Ofer Golany, originally from the United States and now residing in Jerusalem, specializes in cover performances. At times he stays true to the original song, while other times he translates the lyrics into Hebrew and gives the song his own Israeli flavor. Find more info here.

Mark Eliyahu

The Yellow Submarine, February 27th

Mark Eliyahu is a master composer and performer of the kamancheh, an Iranian bowed string instrument. His music is wonderfully pure and unique, and he collaborates with both local and international musicians. Mark’s music has won him the Ophir Award, which is considered the Israeli version of the Oscars. Be sure to book your tickets!

Free Live Jazz

Birman Bistro and Bar, almost every night

Birman is a fun local venue where you can grab some food, beer, hot cider, and live jazz nearly every evening starting from 21:00. Most of the musicians who perform are regulars, while others are known jazz artists who stop by for a one-time show. Birman is also famous for having very friendly waiters and bartenders! See their page on TripAdvisor for reviews.

We hope you have a winter filled with cozy nights, hot chocolate, and lots of live music!
