Northern Israel is definitely one of the most beautiful and diverse areas in the country, and a magnet for adventure lovers. Of course Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are most people’s obvious choices to visit, but, you won’t really get a sense of the real Israel until you’ve taken a trip to Northern Israel. For me, northern Israel is the antithesis of Tel Aviv; quiet, serene, and peaceful. But don’t let looks fool you! Many battles have been fought on this land and you can still see the remains on the deserted battlefields of the Golan Heights.
This blog will give you all the insights about the best places to see and do.
Tiberius is the perfect place to start your exploration of the North. It has the most exquisite waterside views and has one the most magnificent promenade– the Yigal Allon Promenade, that touches the waters of Tiberius. Imagine yourself strolling along through the colorful streets where local merchants sell all sorts of unique and handmade wares. Dine in some of the best ethnic restaurants, while gazing into the vast blueness of Lake Kinerett. This place is so delightful and romantic it’s a great place for couples to fall in love. Let yourself get caught up in every magical moment that you take in.
We all love chocolate; it’s our go to comfort food but have you ever created your very own chocolate? Have you ever tasted pralines that you made yourself? If you haven’t, you must take a trip to the Galita Chocolate Workshop which offers you a unique workshop to try your hand at crafting, touching and tasting all types of chocolate. I’m sure that even before leaving you will have gobbled up your handmade chocolate. For more details, check out the Gailta website and arrange your tour!
Saba (Hebrew for grandfather) Yosi’s is a great place to be able to build your own wooden toys. This one of a kind wood workshop is located right on the harbor and gives you a chance to get to enjoy working with your hands, wood and constructing toys. In addition, there is also a soft room for little ones to play and wear themselves out if making their own toys didn’t already do the job.
Sick of the sand? Tired of tanning? Over the ocean? Kfar Blum kayaking offers the perfect rafting getaway to meet your thrill-seeking needs. If you’re seeking a more adventurous water activity to pass the time, the Kfar Blum wet river experience and attraction center in the Galilee has just the thing. From high-speed “kayaking” (rafting) down fast-flowing waters to lazing down the Hatzbani stream, Kfar Blum guarantees fun for the entire family. For an additional adrenaline rush, don’t miss their “Top-Rope” adventure park.
On a hillside overlooking the Sea of Galilee, Korazim is a good place to get an idea of the layout of a prosperous, mid-sized Galilean town in the time of the 3rd to 5th centuries CE. The main attraction of this site is the beautiful Synagogue. It was built at the end of the fourth century or the beginning of the fifth century. Made of black basalt and carved in geometric, floral and faunal patterns. This is not a big park. You can cover it within 1-2 hours. But, when looking around you can see that this ancient city was much bigger. They reconstructed only a small part of it. Overall it’s quite a nice small National Park, I would highly suggest it as a great way to spend a few hours.
It may sound like a remote province of Siberia, or a Central Asian republic. However, this self-declared, independent state lies on the unspoiled, northern coastline of Israel, with the Mediterranean Sea lapping at its shore. Welcome to Akhzivland, the personal fiefdom of Eli Avivi. Since its creation, it has become somewhat of a cultural phenomenon in Israel. Its beautiful surroundings have led to an influx of both Israeli and foreign tourists. Israeli rock bands frequently hold concerts in the tiny nation. Regarded by many Israelis as a colorful, rather eccentric character, Avivi nevertheless embodies a non-conformist, free-spirited attitude to life.
Do you love pampering and indulging yourself? Hamat Gader, located on the site of an ancient Roman city Gadara, is home to Israel’s largest and oldest spa complex. Thanks to its many medicinal qualities, the water temperature is a constant 420C throughout the year, and bathing in them is soothing and relaxing. Among the health benefits that can be enjoyed from bathing in this water are release of joint pains and pains in general, rejuvenation of skin cells, speeding the metabolism, expansion of the blood vessels that contributes to reduction of blood pressure and increase of the pulse, etc. Also while you’re there be sure to not to miss the ruins of the Roman baths and provide a glimpse into the past with its uncommon black basalt stone.
What more can I say, except really, really try to make sure the delights of the Sea of Galilee are on your must see itinerary. I can’t wait for you to share with us how your tiyul goes.

LTE, which stands for Long Term Evolution, is a protocol for wireless high-speed data communications. Combined together, 4G LTE means you’ll enjoy the most advanced data speed available within the network.
